The Leica Q2 is an impressively capable fixed-lens, full-frame camera with a 47MP sensor and a sharp, stabilized 28mm F1.7 Summilux lens.
It's styled like a traditional Leica M rangefinder and brings a host of updates to the hugely popular original Leica Q (Typ 116) that was launched in 2015.
I'm looking at buying a new tripod in the £100-200 range.
I've got a new 80-300mm zoom and my old tripod just ain't stable enough for 300mm at long />Jessops do a £100 CF own brand tripop but some reviews say it's head is poor so needing extra spend for a replacement.
But the Jessops website says you don't need a separate head for it and if that is the case then it goes over £200.
Has anyone got a Giotto's MTL 8361B Tripod or similar and tell whether it does need a separate head?
Or recommend a good from their kitbag in that price range?
Doesn't have to be carbon fibre, just good for the money.
Just had a look at the Jessops website and you're correct in what you say about Jessops claim you don't need a separate head.
Ok in theory you probably as centre coloumn can adjusted to various angles.
However I think this a case of Jessops admen trying to sell a tripod читать больше the unwary.
To use the tripod effectivly a head will be required.

Manfrotto or Benbo would be fine if they fit the good build quality and stable with my hefty canon 80-300 zoom for example.
Yes, the jessops blurb did ring alarm bells with the claim of no head required.
The Giottos is available for about £170 from warehouse express - but the addition of a suitable head will push the по этому адресу cost over the £200 mark, which is over budget for me.
I do like the hook at the end of giottos centre column though - I could hang the bag from it to increase stability in the wind.
But any make or model will do.
I also have a lighter weight Uniloc, and whilst it's equally flexible, it's not as firm and gets much less use.
I've got several specialist Manfrotto heads, but so far!
To the OP: I'd recommend checking whether any ball head you choose tends to be sticky.
I have a Giottos 9351B which I actually bought from Jessops!
They were selling it with head for £99.
Most other retailers were about £120.
It's an excellent tripod.
I've since changed the Giottos head to a Manfrotto ball head, only because I like Штатив Falcon Eyes Pro-614 heads.
That Giottos 9351B is still only £85-90 depending where bought.
If it does the job then I can buy a good ball head to, and still be well under max budget.
Just thought I'd add an addendum to this thread.
The same combo was £110 on Amazon.
I've enough left over in the budget to get a good ball head now.
